Iran’s doc ‘Sunless Shadows’ wins awards at the 60th Krakow Film Festival in Poland.

Iranian documentary ‘Sunless Shadows’ has grabbed two awards at the 60th Krakow Film Festival in Poland.

The documentary won Silver Horn award for the Best Director and the Student Jury award.

Made by Mehrdad Oskouee, the documentary narrates the story of five young women who are jailed in a small juvenile detention center for murder.

Through breathtaking monologues, the women clarify the circumstances of the murders and even their motives.

The Krakow festival is one of the oldest events in the world that focuses on documentary, feature film and short film.

The eight-day festival is a chance for viewers to watch around 250 international films.

The 60th edition of the event was held online from May 31 to June 5.
